Recently I watched the Warriors again for the hundredth time... what a classic... inspired me to draw this image... I will add that I have since taken off the shading in the face paint... I wasn't happy... if and when I get around to inking this image I will have in black on white with the only colour being the red area on the face paint.

Children's hospital pt 2

So... this is the second finalised image for the Children's hospital pitch. Basically, this puppet character is 'Ollie', a puppet who explains impending medical procedures to kids. The puppet already exists, but the pitch is to build him an ornate wooden home to live in and explain things to the bairns from.

This is the second incarnation of the drawing, the first prompting the following remarks...

"Love the composition, love the kids sat around, love the house... the puppet... SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME! Can we lose the giant hypodermic needle and stitches in his face"

The request was completed and this is how it ended. I don't usually share commercial work but this is a fun project and since its taking over my life, its all I've got for yous!

Edinburgh Children's Hospital

Little inky update. This will no doubt see no more action as the commissioning party only needs B/W for a presentation document.

The premise of this pitch is all children who visit the hospital will get to go crazy in a dressing up space... then have their portrait taking to be eternally added to a screen in the foyer display all images on a loop of all who have been resident at the hospital. I like it

Hopefully, something a little more Cloud Commission-esque will come this way soon... but in the meantime, ready yourself for a further 9 more of these badboys!
